The formation of a catechist requires a commitment of money as well as time, and you are encouraged to seek financial assistance when necessary. Do not let money stand in the way of your formation. Financial assistance is available through various sources, those listed below as well as through your parish and school organizations.
Catechist Financial Assistance
Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas Grant
If you live within the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas, financial assistance is available for CGS formation, atria, and materials. There will be two review periods in the fiscal year. Applications for assistance (with supporting paperwork) will be due by April 1st and June 1st.

SonFlower Catechist Financial Aid
Catechists living in the SonFlower Region and committing to serve Regional CGS are encouraged to apply for financial aid. Because of limited funds, monies are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, and only a portion of the tuition may be awarded. See the application for additional requirements.
The Tina Lillig Memorial Fund
To receive assistance from the United States Association of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGSUSA), you must be a member of this national organization. The mission of the Tina Lillig Memorial Fund is to support the growth and development of CGS through catechist formation, missionary outreach, and the work of CGSUSA.

Formation leaders and other CGS leadership in the SonFlower Region are encouraged to apply for financial aid for further education and enrichment.
