Membership in The United States Association of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd connects you with catechists and supporters who share a commitment to the Christian formation of children.  When you are a member you not only get access to wonderful resources in The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd but your membership also helps our association spread the word about how a relationship with the Good Shepherd can change the lives of adults and nourish the spiritual growth of children.  For individuals who are members you get access to the online material manual, for those that are formed in the CGS method, you get updates and communication from CGSUSA News, the Foglietto, Member Memo, Parent News, access to the Member Directory, Voting Privileges, access to restricted materials for purchase, mustard seeds AND the annual journal.

Now the annual journal is a form of continual expression of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd publications, written and published with the same spirit and focus which is the religious life of the child and the essentials of the Christian faith.  The journals focus is to provide resources for ongoing formation as we continue to explore the two great mysteries of Who is the Child and Who is God.  It also contains theological artwork, prayers, and observations of children in the atrium.

The 2022 journal just came out so if you are a member you should have received your copy already.  It is on our Montessori Foundations.  But we also have copies of past journals all the way back to 1984 with writing by Sofia, Gianna, and other early collaborators.  Last episode we got a deeper glimpse into who she was and for today’s episode I would love to hear from Sofia Cavalletti herself.  And these journals are one of the best ways for us to hear from her directly so today I will share with you an article from the 1985 Journal by Sofia Cavalletti!

AUDIO VERSION of The Religious Potential of the Child by Sofia Cavalletti, read by Rebekah Rojcewicz.  CGSUSA has created a Premium Podcast Channel for this audiobook through Podbean.  The cost is $29.00 and does include the audio version of all chapters of The Religious Potential of the Child, 3rd Edition all read by Rebekah Rojcewicz.  We have provided both video overview instructions and written instructions on accessing this audiobook.  Please use these resources.
